Morning news. The ski resort at the top of Irati, managed by the Public College of Zuberoa, has decided to proceed with the final sawing, as they will be in snow again this year. I remember that about twenty years ago, in a special issue of Pyrénées Magazine, they announced this prospect of white mantalet deficiency by 2050. Since then, the representation of the future was enormous. We see climate change starting at two decades. And it's not that good a sign.
The Oôko Glacier has given a final earthquake this summer in those roofs of Lushon. Montane friends traveling to the Aneto, day by day, tell us that it melts. We felt the decline in the epicity of this Pyrenean chain when we opened the newspapers, as if a duel mourner died the oldest in our house. Landscapes disappear, the economy, knowledge, culture, in the name of the envy of four or five thousand men of the world that all governments promote. I know I have too much tendency to simplify the situation.
One question still: Will the snowless forest of Irati continue to sing?
