Children and young people have come. They have entered a space that does not have the aseptic image of a school, where there are tables like at home, chairs of different sizes and colors, like sofas to be quiet, plants, lamps, good wood shelves, sweet smell, magazines, musical earbuds, computers, games, books, posters. The school offer is broader than the one we can find at home, more books, more field of knowledge or a richer network of relationships. But for the rest, school is a big house where we can do and find everything we need. Above all, it is a residence.
There we found, of different ages, ttip children, comfortable children, adolescents and adolescents, us adults. We are together, mixed, with the smallest desire to learn by imitation of the biggest, and training ourselves in caring for those who are not yet so autonomous, somewhat more mature. We form a natural community, in which we don't ask the same question when we make peers or friends. Sometimes the shared interest in something we want to do unites us, sometimes an event in others, namely. There are always ties, feelings of belonging to the same community.
It's 09:00 and we've met in assembly. It's time to meet us; how we are, what kind of humor we have, everything goes well. We are now going to organise the day, what everyone wants to do, or what they need, how it can be reconciled with the projects to be done, with the commitments made. The little ones will be there, almost like listeners, look, not for a long time. But the biggest ones today are a little upset. They have brought to the table a conflicting event from the day before that has made them feel the need to regularize coexistence somewhere. I think it will be long, until everyone remains calm, until the new rule is formulated, until the consequence of the breakdown is agreed. The preparation of today’s minutes is for June, and it is doing so in its attempt to draft it in an understandable way. We work on democratic culture.
We are now going to organize a day, what everyone wants to do, what they have to do, how they can be reconciled with the projects to be carried out, with the commitments made.
Raised, everyone goes to their work, to their tasks, to work on the project they've chosen for this month. Most of the little ones go outside, running and jumping, to the sand, to the fountain, to play in nature. Others have sat down, warm, near the adults, to hear some story. An important group for the theatrical play, with the design and sewing of the garments, taking advantage of the skill of his travelling companion Iker. And another couple prepares a flute course to offer it to the rest in next week's workshop.
In the case of the older ones, a quintet will prepare the meal of the day, as it is their turn, and another group prepares the journey of the easter week. Thinking about menus, learning to take care of money, making efforts to get funding and designing routines, you learn geography, mathematics, language and biology. Everyone designs their resume as in natural life.
There are two teenagers who want to go to college the year after and prepare the test with the help of their colleague Itziar. Udane, finally, has been very interested in meeting with the language group, as in summer he made an American friend. He wants to learn English.
After the morning, the time has come for cleaning. Leaving what was used in place and in good condition, we cleaned the toilets, the workshops and the kitchen somewhat deeper, in turns. Of course, we don't need cleaners.
And no more, goodbye, good afternoon, until tomorrow!
