Elections have passed. In others we are full. As I write this, we do not know what is going to happen, the previous ones reflected whether the increases in competition are going to give or acquire the key of the Spanish Government. Secondly, it is undeniable that the State is in the midst of a global trend.

It's a new era. The multifactorial crisis we are experiencing predicts the end of global neoliberalism. And the new right that is gradually spreading has been willing to take the motto and to guide change. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a better principle than fear to oppose it.

Media intervention, the role of social media, fake news and others, ideologues like Bannon in wars… explanations can be a thousand, but that does not answer the fundamental question: Why is the Left unable to channel social dissatisfaction?

The Left is not able to dream the future, to imagine an exciting project, largely because the future itself is at stake. We've realized that, today, it's easier to think about the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism. We believed and claimed that another world is possible, but dystopia has eaten utopia.

This inability leads the left desperately to save existence. The only possible option is to defend the instrument created in the last century to remove workers from other liberating formulations, the welfare state. It is better to preserve this system, albeit weakened, in the face of the threat of the possible monster. Thus, the last decades have been the time of alternation. But alternation is not an alternative, and political-institutional power only allows patches to be placed in a vacuum. Perhaps at some point it served to maintain a certain order, but it seems that the system itself will also reach the expiry date later.

Votes are needed to ensure alternation. And in order to get such a high vote, it seems that parties have to go to the center, so that as many people as possible are added, to generate as little mistrust as possible. That is what doctrine says. But being central and being a political center are very different things. The political centre, which makes everyone dance to the rhythm of the music that he sets, is at this very moment ultra-right.

As neoliberalism devoured Keynes’ liberalism and its good social – and controversial – intentions, the ultra-right or alt-right (alternative right, according to them) is engulfing the “civilized” right (sic). And even sowing a whole new mindset. Although important, the fundamental thing is not whether acronyms or not come to power, but they are changing imaginaries and cosmovisions. A change of society is taking place to guide the change of the system.

Meanwhile, those who historically demanded rebellion, disobedience and transgression are on the defensive, committed to political correctness. Social sumin has begun to capitalize on this new alternative right. Surprisingly, it is now they, at least, who seem “anti-systems”.
