Donostia. Yes, in Donostia. Although the Queen and Franco did not succeed for a long time, San Sebastian is a city plunged into disaster by opening its doors to savage speculation. But before, the city was not as we know it now, let alone its neighborhoods. It was their offspring and they founded La Perrera in the second half of the 1980s.
It was gray times not only for socio-political-economic reasons, but also for punk rock and powerful street music. Those groups that had exploded between us before a few years were already in decline or heavily affected by the explosions, and the new groups, trying to be calm from the previous ones, had little credibility. And it's that these young people from the Donostian neighborhoods, totally in reverse (here), and turning their backs on those patterns, were able to make a reading of punk and street rock that were heard in other parts of the world, to bring those sounds to our country and to make a fresh, rabid proposal, without filters.
The groups that had a short journey have been better understood, defended and (also) admired, as often happens to the ancients. The giant Romperlo all EP and the mini-LP Right side of our minds mini-LP, which nobody can get anywhere, have become apparent (what is that?) And distribution with nothing. Then the members of the group took different paths, and as a result we have for a long time the magnificent Lord No and New Catholic Catechism.
Within this musical archeology it was important to bring to light the model that precedes these two works, and which is a teenage crying. Jimmy, Mikel, Xabi, Arturo and Gonzalo link six pearls recorded in the study of Paco Flores: I will kill you, This life stinks, Seek and destroy Stooges, Time of suicide, I don't care and Dog Meat.
