Road of 7,000 years
- Corgula is currently the island of Croatia, but formerly it was linked to the continent. In it is the Neolithic Deposit of Soline, a sign of the Hvar culture that then spread in the Adriatic.
In this year’s campaign, in underground excavations, the team led by Mate Parica of the University of Zadar has found a stone road and, dated the wood remains, discovered that he is 6,900 years old. In the same campaign they found another Neolithic village.
Therefore, almost 7,000 years ago, a 4m wide road was used in the area currently submerged.
