The name of the group is closely linked to the time in which we live. The lights and shadows that come to the disaster appear on the album Gauden aldia, with the intention of mitigating the barbarism suffered by pain, disgust and anger. Pain in the eyelids, even in the heads. Pain caused by the war context and mass impoverishment, among others. At least one disappointment shared among many.
They have worked on many problems in coplas impregnated with beautiful pop melodies. One of them is housing: urbanization plans with an exclusively cementitious base, “colorful blocks planted in sterile avenues”, which lead us to think of picturesque, spacious and high neighborhoods of Vitoria-Gasteiz.. and issues such as “awakening the postcards”, which are well known to the privileged assumptions that live on the coast. But they also mean recklessness. “In the exploited coastal villages / where they are demolished and raised / in the beams’ fishing grounds / impoverished youth / trying to destroy those plots”.
Although it is said that they come in the disaster and focus on criticism, there are attitudes that go beyond despair. They want to demolish the system because they intend to build it, and not to demolish it by melting. There are some rays of light, hope, call for political and collective action. The desire to build from criticism. I remind the Berria newspaper of what the group singer Jon Gurrutxaga said: “You cannot sing that we will be happy and that beauty gets fatter in us if every day there are people in a miserable and terrifying situation.” Therefore, in order to escape reality, they put on the table “the need to steal steps” to that full flight, and that it is time to start “establishing a way to return”, because it has become a necessity.
To be happy and I do not know what else is said in these times... “Where is life to eat / meet beautiful people” is a pleasure to hear singing at full performance. Instead of eating, life doesn't eat you. In that crown we also left the gorges in the album presentation concert offered at the Gaztetxe de Azpeitia.
