Wearing purple glasses makes architectural and teaching activity different. Probably the physical outcome of the work is not evident, i.e. the wood placement mode or what the translucent wall reveals, does not clearly tell the effect of the glasses. It means that the architecture of purple glasses does not have to have expressiveness in a certain style, nor a formal and material seal. But the importance that has been given to him in work, in what attention has been placed, because there have been so many other factors that indirectly affect him in the development of work, will be very contaminated by the magic of purple glasses. All of this can have a sensory effect on space.
With the purple glasses, another map of reality is shown, just like in Matrix, at eye level and superimposed on reality. The structure of thought that is influencing what we do and think becomes visible, as well as the one below and on the sides, such as the painful consequences of these situations and discomfort. When deciding what the street seat or house windows will look like, dwelling property multiplies the situations and aspects considered. And the possibility of being wrong has increased.
With the purple glasses I realized the need to make a different teaching pedagogy. I have been alerted to look carefully at the professor's place of power, leading him to reflect on how I manage my role of power and hierarchy. The pedagogy of teaching repeats a concrete thought, some knowledge predominates (and others diminish) and this limits a model of architecture (and excludes others). I have no answer to this challenge, but the professors of the UPV/EHU who have been honoured this year are certainly helpful: Mari Luz Esteban, Mirari Antxustegi, Paz de Corral, Maggy Barrere, Enkarni Gomez, Lourdes Arrien and Vicky Areca.
