In 2019, the brothers Maitane Iruiña and Malentxo and Mattin Zeberio started the Mirua group in Tolosaldea. What looks like a good electronic pop, it has its first job full of nuances and references. Yes, you notice that they bring the music from the very young in their veins.
The six songs that add up to the EP that they publish with the Bear Ederra seal of Last Tour, and the other two that they have already published, show a solid group. Her collaboration with Kiliki Frexko synthesizes this sympathetic joy that the group provides: the teen song heartbreak with a couple of jokes and a couple of meta-references to speed and other substances. Being young is being young, and what we've seen so far is natural.
Goxoloin<3 <3 <3 <3 has smells like Ariana Grande, Thank U, next. And listen, little reference. Cutre has another dreamy tremor. And Hands-free gives the EP the special closure it needs.
Production is gold. I usually don't like jobs that are left over. But in the world of electronics, you have to be thin in order not to be boring and, above all, predictable. Along with other great projects like Merina Gris, this work smells of home-cooked, but not for that reason with poorer taste. Mattin Zeberio is ready to be named sample and king of glitch and layers. Let us not forget that in your first job.
In any case, all three form one. And there's grace. This project has a lot of adolescent in reference and aesthetic. And there I like to read, start from that point of naivety and cholinism, which sometimes seems like they don't have much to say, singing to breathe joyful. But – and it’s important – not from the emotional or rising life. You don't need more hyperballs under hyperpope. They will come.
This work closes a little circle opened by the Mafia Chill. Let the fresh air not be a mere copy of what is done outdoors. Their attitude and aesthetics are linked to the era and move naturally. Young people know that identity is a weapon and changes when needed.
