It's the representation of a building as a body. Installation pipes like veins, columns and beams like skeleton, facade, a skin fiber. And the soul and the vital beat of the building are influenced by people, as they use and care for space.
An abandoned building. Both from the exterior and from the interior, the spaces transmit a rigor mortis, the lifting of the painting of walls, the rust of the door bands and the broken glass are a place of freezing of the past that moves. Or the hotel rooms. Most are dead, no matter the number of stars. In these bodily spaces there has been no affection in time or life has been lost, and the floor, ceiling and objects appear apathetic. On the sensitive level are empty materials and places, simple skeleton.
Although we know that space is the support of many affections, I like the themes to get out of reasoning and that they are mysterious how and how the material nature of the environment affects us. In the essay of defining sensations, it seems that things related to the design of space predominate, and that different situations and aspects have a mutual influence – which is an ecology – beyond what is seen and constructed. The beauty of all this.
In this field of subjectivity we have to go to philosophy to say that all material things, in one degree or another, are “alive” and therefore cause effects on us by material effect (Spinoza, Thoreau, Bennett…). It is a type of relationship between materials and humans and these affects acquire a presence in space as an “invisible layer”.
High consumption days come. I feel the gula of buying objects and accumulating them, no. In such a short term, we reject the acquired things, which greatly reduce the relationship time with them, disregarding the potential affection of the materials.
