It was more or less known that what Olaia Inziarte was doing would be special to those who followed. For a year now the Martian, who is kept on this album, has been engaged in developing this work in a radical way, with heart and throat.
The power of the voice is widely used, as the moments of strength are very strong. It also looks at the voice, sometimes in the style of Eneritz Furyak, changing the expected direction to the martial key. Silence a fandango with Petti, something that looks like a ranchera, and a bals, with the warm and skillful voice that sings along with Joseba Tapia (Leire Berasaluze and Kristina Aranzabe).
Inziarte invents color at very poor times. I mean pop is limited as a language, and even pop-rock, and yet Olaia knows how to find flavors from there and here. Your pain is about adding another pallet to the wind, advancing batteries, developing development.
Inziarte is a Martian. I think in every sense. He understands looking inwards, and calmly gives the hottest forgiveness to those who don't understand. But it has something specific to the generation, and there's that confusion that we're talking about. The Low Class, Xagua and Katua Vol II and Bera Jakina, the most interesting of the production is hybridization. Hybridization maybe measured, but hybridization. Although Billie Eilish is a little forgotten, Inziart has that line: putting at the service of the song all the sources at his fingertips. These sources go from commercial pop to popular song, and they go through electronic dance and I think they go through jazz. And I fear that more and more will happen. Let's not forget that this is Olaia's first album. Too mature to be the first, hopeful to come.
Perforated socks have better stories but with good listeners we are not. In that sense, Ben Yarte said that the problem is not the scene, but that artists did not offer what time needed. And the first step of what is necessary, of course, is honesty. All Inziarte's songs are credible, and that's the first thing you can ask for a song. Everything else is on its way.
Be careful with the pain of others but also with singing. One kind of drug is olaia, which is like bringing cherries into the mouth. A tranquilizer who assures that the present is the future. Because this generation, aware of its pains, knows what it wants. Olaia knew it, yes, we'll love it.
