In defending the past
Nega, a singer from South Chikos, wrote that childhood is a “small emotional homeland,” which as we age, tended to idealize our experiences of both children and young people. They themselves sing, both from then on and from healthy play, both from before and from real life, of a real world in which I was the protagonist, young and beautiful. We came to defend anything to keep that patriotic steam safe, from the Comecon to the cartoons we saw on Sundays in the morning. Whatever the objective quality of what we consumed or did, we want to stay invariable, as we left it, because it's the only way back. Future generations will always lack something to be authentic.
Maybe it's a normal process, instinctive resistance. We all want handles, rituals, nostalgia, repetition of things, houses that make us feel safe. The question is whether we know what we are defending when we defend our emotional homelands. To see if we are able and willing to see and question the ideologies that underpin that homeland.
For example, if we believe that a change is “forced” or “artificial”, we should dare to explain what is for us “natural” and why. Suppose the participation of women in the public square. A cultural initiative of women is artificial during the holidays of your people, it smells like a place. It is natural that in 50 years male programs have been organized, because it is known that they do not come because they are men, but because they are luminous and puros.Dice “natural” beings because saying “I and I as I” is too high.

Let us think about what we really want to protect and reject under the excuse of the past.
