Liberating imaginations
Judith Butler, in an April interview, argued as suggestive as ever, “there are right fantasies that allow fascists to come to power, and that’s why the left needs a very strong imagination. We need a very strong imagination because they have a strong fantasy about restoring order.” I met Butler while reading Soniexka and, even if it was for sheer serendipity, I was conditioned by reading Ludmila Ulitskaia's book.
Pasazait publishes Soniexka. And it will be the last book of the editorial before its final closing. The sad news we received in June is about to be published. The feeling of closure is unfortunately left to vine.

Soniexka is signed by Pasazaite. It is an internationally well-known literary work and the importation of a writer who may not be well known to us. In addition, Ulitska’s is adhering to the Russian literature that we see increasingly translated.
He has reminded me of Drakulic and Kaminer of the same editorial, even if the original is in German, and Katakrak has published Txukovskaia to me. I am reminded that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is behind us all, and they all engage in a critical dialogue with that territorialization.
That's what brings me to Butler. For some time now, the USSR has become a puppet to support the most reactionary fantasies of the Western capitalist. The USSR has also been used to feed the conservative nostalgic fantasies on the left. Perhaps more than fantasies, what we have to reinforce is a liberating imagination. It helps Ulitskaia's work to be read with others, that is, a strong image of the left.
