Some indigenous American peoples created original guidelines to preserve life on the planet. Among them are the people of Kalawattomie, or the people who know how to thank. With these original instructions, they organized mutual relationships and all kinds of life around them. This lineage meant that what was being asked of the community and the land should come back in one way or another. They were also clear about who was taking care of community members and which were not.
In today ' s world, this type of culture has left little space. Indeed, capitalism and colonialism imposed displacements on indigenous peoples, and so their customs and roots are about to disappear. However, for centuries, these indigenous peoples have in their own way overcome the struggle between classes and gender discrimination, since, in the end, the mutual care of the community does not permit exploitation or inequality among people.
Also in our country, the development of the capitalist system has imposed many displacements on us. The links between our land and our community are becoming weaker. As a people, we are losing the original patterns to live on this planet, that is, the ability and knowledge to care for ourselves.
Things have been quite corollary and we have had to spend a lot of time setting our ideological framework. Although the spokesmen for capitalism have declared the death of ideology, eleven new political lines have appeared in Euskal Herria. A few decades ago, in general, people talked about belonging to a human class and popular identity. And based on them, we choose where to place our care areas for ourselves and our neighbors. But now we turn anyone or group on our side into an enemy. We discard any different voice in a successive way, denying its ideological framework, and perhaps we don't realize that with such an attitude our community of origin is gradually getting rid of.
I believe that if we applied the original patterns of indigenous people as a people, it would be much clearer who really cares for the people and the environment of our people, and only who wants to maintain their position within the system, who defends their privileges and who tries to defend the life of all as a community. The gaze may be too simple, but when the earth is smoked, it at least helps me find my place.
