From ear to heart
They hear the stories and, brixt-brixt, they go from ear to heart,” he quotes with which Xabier Olaso addresses this interesting collection of stories. Olaso collects 57 stories in this book, all of them short, agile and stories that, besides the reader’s pleasure, seek another purpose.
The reader will have the opportunity to find new versions of stories she already knew, such as the Red Riding Hood, in which the girl “is dressed in her long fur coat of wolf through the streets of elegant Paris.” The humoristics prevail in front of them. For example, the baserritarras, or that of Kukua: the cuckoo was injured and “spread his song of pain to the four winds: Pu-pu; pu-pu.”
There are very short stories, such as the so-called judicial decision: “On October 4, coinciding with World Animal Day, the judge opened the atheist of the cage and released the cardinal.”
After the stories, Olaso also leaves semi-playful semipoetic expressions for reflection: “The North Pole is the planet’s freezer,” “Pharola is the daughter of the moon,” or “The Pyruleta is a magnifying glass,” among others.
As can be seen, Xabier Olaso offers in this book a wide range of readings, brief, humorous texts mostly easy to read and that seek the involvement and complicity of the reader. There is some other story with pedagogical tints, such as the Tale, phrases of black humor, that approach poetry, that have stains of fables… but all seek to have a good time, enjoy the readings and, as already mentioned, reach the heart from the ear, or from the eyes, to tell stories, but also to read.
A book suitable for newcomers to enjoy the literature, but also for children to be told, read at night or, why not, at any time.
