What are we, who are we, Basques? The nodes of the identities and the crises of the Basque youth have been surrounded on stage by the Formol laboratory, which in the Basque theatre seems to cause itching. Because it's not a dramatic and poetic play. It is an exercise of honesty and nudity. And because when we see the entrails of Mikel Ibarguren and Intza Alkain great we find ourselves. We do.

We have been a generation of absurd humor. But in our manifestos we have tried to test a high poetic language: the high, as mentioned above, and the blah and blah. As the accuracies say: Fuck moving. When do we let ourselves do what we want?

Because we have the burden of the neoliberal subject on the back: “Be yourself.” But what for us? To be what we expect from us? Are we the ones who take it personally? And do I have to love myself to recognize myself? What do you expect from me? Questions that cannot be answered by the neoliberal subject, with a burden of depression, anxiety and mental illness, with interruption of notifications, noise and constant dissociations. [And man's lack of emotional intelligence doesn't help. “Try, then what’s the problem?”].

What equals us is the backpack. “THAT, feeling so strong the idea that you are going to be free at the age of 18. The backpack is to give hugs on the masculine crews only when something serious has happened – men are backpacks – it is a backpack to know if you have ever raped someone or not.”

The backpack is ultimately a shared thing. Not finding coherence in the singlass thread of the experiences that relate our childhood, adolescence, youth and maturity. Having the first awkward and traumatic sexual experiences, trying drugs and fighting down the street as we asked parents for permission to get out of the box. Or, indeed, not to act.

Because the backpack is, in a way, to create a political and cultural identity in the Basque Country, to assume the heritage of the struggles and teachings that come before and drown in its remains. Only in our most joyful boomer do we find honesty: “Let the wrong generations here, the ones we have not succeeded in anything, take responsibility for their own shame, as we care about ourselves.”

Let our generation guess new ways of being in the world to put freedoms into practice. If those of previous generations accept their mistakes and approach with humility, much better. And if you follow the cantinel “in our time,” we laugh at them. Oh, of course, and we laugh at ourselves. Because we knew all this, but we just had to accept it together.
