Surely most Basques prefer the Republic, but so far the republics we know are of others and not of ours. In France, for example, Republican principles dominate and are highly appreciated since, in the former monarchic regime, the monarchists of the third state were revolted and became citoys. This happened in the late 18th century, and on the day of September 1792, the corrupt monarchy was forever abolished and the First Republic came into force. However, it did not last long, since from 1804 the imperative Empire of Napoleon Bonaparte was imposed.
They needed a new revolution, the revolution of 1848, to organize the Second Republic, but it was really strange, because they elected Bonaparte's niece for the presidency, which, following the lineage instinct, hit the state in a few years, re-establishing the empire and naming itself as emperor.
A third revolution had to open the way to the Third Republic, in this case it was a violent popular rebellion called the Community. Hence the third republic. He was cross-buried by the Nazi invasion.
"We have the solar of the Basque republic in the Basque Country
itself, occupying the entire
territory, and we have to materialize the alliances in it"
Only at the end of the so-called Second World War did the Republic regenerate, the fourth. The defeat of the colonialist France in Indochina and Algeria led to the end of this fourth and led General De Gaulle to command a kind of coup.
De Gaull himself established the conditions for the birth of the Fifth Republic, and France continues to do so, which is above that nominal republic a presidential regime and which has more of the neocolonial empire than of the changing values of equality, fraternity and freedom of origin.
The short and precarious life of the republic is known as a regime in the history of the Spanish State. Two Spanish Republican attempts had a sad and terrible end, yes. However, after the death of the last dictator in bed, it was hoped, among many citizens, that the anticipating forces would re-create the republican system.
In the elections, the PSOE was growing steadfastly claiming its republican identity. Subsequently, every time they have come to the Government of Spain they have always acted against the precepts and today they have become a solid support for the totally rotten monarchies, both nationally and internationally. The last unequivocal test is the gift given to the irreversible Moroccan feudal regency by progressive president Sanchez, culminating in a genuine historical betrayal and sacrificed Saharawi republic. It had already acted by uniting the extreme right of Spain to sink the democratic process in favour of the Catalan republic.
The Basque republic is certainly a good regime. We will have to learn from history and from experience what the way to get there is. I think we can already draw some conclusions and clarify them. The conclusion of tactical alliances with the French and Spanish authorities, even those with the progressive name, is not the road to the Basque republic, of course, going in the opposite direction. The site of the Basque Republic is located in the Basque Country itself, in the whole territory, and the alliances must materialize in it, based and key to the republican principles themselves.
