For the work I do, I talk to a lot of people about technology and digitalization. I recently worked with a father on the authority of technology. This dad doesn't like technology at all, and he hates talking about technology. You don't understand it well and you don't want to understand it. But he's very worried that your child, newly admitted to the institute, will have the necessary devices, including the cell phone, so that the child doesn't get isolated. But the need to learn technology makes her angry, even if it's to help her child. Therefore, she is very grateful to the child’s mobile phone and system, because they do work, because she doesn’t have to make many decisions, or have to argue with her child, because what she decides is “the mobile”.

He has purchased a mobile phone with Android OS and has done everything the Android system has requested to use it: he has created an e-mail for the child and has indicated that the child is a minor, and he has provided the system with his father's e-mail and phone. So the cell phone starts to work. And not only does it work, the phone decides what the child can't see and when to turn it on and off, all for the child's benefit.

I told my father that I was struck by the fact that a person who hated technology so much allowed me to lose the authority he has with his son for the benefit of technology. It's not easy to fully manage the impact that this digital transformation is having on our lives, if we already had enough to manage it -- but let's not lose those little things: when to turn on your phone, when to turn it off, what to see and what not to have to agree with our children, rather than leave that authority in the hands of a technology. The criterion should be ours, because although it is not the best criterion, it is a learning pathway. I believe that on the pretext of reducing debates between us, giving the authority of our lives to technology harms us more than anything.
