Ski torque of 1,300 years
- In Norway, a pair of skis of the year 750 AD has been found, an archeological treasure that has been revealed by melting ice as a result of climate change.
In 2014, a well-preserved ice skiing was found in Digervarden (Norway). When the piece of 187 cm long and 17 cm wide found a full leather union for the foot, it was the first time in Norway there was such a well-kept ski, which was previously found another in Finland. According to Carbon 14, skiing took place around 750 years.
Well, at the end of last September, the members of the Secrets of the Ice project found another ski in the same place. You've taken the skiing out of the ice and you've seen it's almost the same as 7 years ago. I mean, they've formed the pair. But the good news is that, in addition to the effort of archaeologists, these kinds of findings are due to the melting of ice.
