Every year, on 15 May, we remember the Nakba Day in Palestine (“disaster”, in Arabic). On that day we recall that the Zionist movement initiated the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in order to create the State of Israel in 1948. 750,000 - 800,000 Palestinians were expelled from violence; hundreds of villages were destroyed, massacres were committed, Palestinian property seized, names of towns and villages were changed, and new plant species other than indigenous species were even introduced. To conceal the existence of Palestine. All this to legitimize the presence of one of the main allies of imperialism in the Middle East.

Currently, the Zionist State continues to be protected by the explicit complicity of the major imperialist powers (US and EU) which, despite their constant violation of international law, give it total impunity. The negotiating processes have served only to disseminate the Zionist project, perpetuating the Nakba and permanent apartheid against the Palestinians, occupying the territories, expelling the Palestinians and dying.

So far the data, the story and the facts. Data that we all know perfectly and that we remember as “every year”. They've written to me "like every year," and I've been confused by the casings.

I should like to stress the importance of the contribution of solidarity with the Palestinian people to our struggle. True solidarity beyond the limits of the liberal institutions. It goes beyond tweets and headlines. While this text is being prepared, the Israeli authorities expel Palestinian families from their homes in the Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah, to be then occupied by the settlers; in the territories of 48, the Israeli groups attack the “Arab” citizens, as well as their houses and shops, simply because they are Palestinians; and in Gaza, the Israeli army is again killing. More than two hundred Palestinians have been killed. And I say over two hundred for having had to update the macabre number of Palestinians killed in the drafting process of this article, and I believe that by the time it is published it will surely be obsolete.

And in the meantime, which is only a part of what the Palestinian occupation entails, I write again “like every year” or “again”. These words are increasingly disgusting to me.

“The gauze is bombed again.” Once again, “this or another Basque institution has invited a representative from Israel”. I've accessed the Internet and put CAF in the search engine. A company that continues with the project to build a tramway in the occupied territories of Jerusalem, which helps to steal Palestinian land and violates international law. And I see that all the news is related to new contracts. And nothing happens.

And I meet with hundreds of communiqués from organizations and agents at all levels, who reaffirm the need to sit down and speak on both sides, equating oppressors and oppressed. And I get the urge to vomit.

For no one who believes in the liberation of peoples may not accept or normalize the oppression of a people fighting for their liberation, let alone by a colonial and imperialist entity such as the State of Israel.

Because the struggle to liberate the Palestinian people is a struggle for the liberation of peoples, against imperialism and the capitalist system that provoke oppression. Those who oppress the Palestinians are the same ones who condemn us here to precarious lives.

For no one should be obliged to negotiate permanently and to accept the conditions of those who oppress him and those who seek the destruction of his country; for their usefulness to imperialist interests, by the international community itself that maintains oppression.

This text may seem a little short, except to draw some rage and to claim the need to strengthen internationalist solidarity with Palestine. At least, from here, coinciding with the BDS campaign that we have been asked for, to be able to give a strong, bold and effective response; with the effort to normalize a colonial, imperialist and profoundly racist project, and to put an end to all the complicities that occur in Euskal Herria with Zionism.
For the rest, read, listen and inform the Palestinians. They are the ones that matter in this matter. They are the ones who refuse to be expelled from their homes. Those who oppose harassment, discrimination and oppression. And in the face of that model of resistance and dignity, each from their trench, we have to fight alongside them.
