This year marks the centenary of the birth of Federico Krutwig Sagredo and I will write a few simple lines of his gigantic work so that our youth will know the contributions he has made. In fact, his pen was very prosperous and made many contributions to the Basque Country, to politics, to literature, to the economy… In the exile of Rome we had the opportunity to meet it, in 1970, to enrich it intellectually with the same opportunity. Then I was lucky enough to be with him in Brussels and Euskal Herria and always in his mind Euskal Herria.

Federico was a new Basque and at the age of 26, by the hand of Azkue, he was appointed a member of the Euskaltzaindia number. In Euskaltzaindia he did not hide either: first he managed to have his meetings in Euskera and, on the other hand, he opted for the unified Basque country. In his opinion, the bases of the Euskara batua were in the classical labortan, in the Basque traditional cult, which had already been written by Leizarraga and Axular. I was against the pure Basque who used Aranism and had to borrow cultured terms from classical Greek, if you wanted to achieve advanced and rich language. He used this Basque: the classical labortan. Thus, in an event held in Euskaltzaindia, he strongly criticized the Catholic Church for having a colonial policy against Euskera. And he had to flee to Iparralde, where he would join with Likinian, Kasilda and other refugees.

It was easy to learn languages and said that it dominated fifteen languages, after forgetting the old Persian. Translation work was very easily found in the press agencies. He also translated Mao's quotes.

Krutwig did a great job of renewing Basque nationalism and his main contributions would be written in three books, although his political work was much more fruitful: Vasconia (1963), The Basque Question (1965) and Computer Shock. Vasconia. 2001 (1984).

In Vasconia we will find the history of the Great Basque People, which approaches the current Euroregion of New Aquitaine, Navarra and the CAPV. Likewise, the essence of the Basque nation is not race, as Aranism said, but language, and in the background culture and mentality, religion, race and socio-economic characteristics. Internationalization is a dynamic process (Marx–Kropotkin) that will enable it to become a State after acquiring the right to decide as the Marxists (Lenin) (The Basque Question) said. This political process will be peaceful, but if the dictatorship or the lack of democracy prevent Euskal Herria from being independent, it would be legitimate to jump into the armed struggle against the state of oppressors. Coming back from exile, Krutwig will write Computer Shock where, as a seer, he will foresee what the computer revolution means and how the Basque Country should do so in order not to lose the wheel of progress. In the future, machines will acquire intelligence from people and some machines, robots, will replace the proletariat. Consequently, the revolution of the working class envisaged by Marx will not make sense, since the proletariat to carry out the revolution lacks the capacity, but it does not make sense of the elite with the utmost knowledge. And to do this, you have to create and nurture a Basque creative elite. In Sophopolis, in the city of flavors, at the meeting point of the Basque elite, where the greatest inventions will be given.

Krutwig is a Basque divinity that needs to be known.
