One from Zeta?
- We call electronic the kind of music that is generated through electronic devices, but this definition is not enough, because all the music that is made today goes through an electronic element or instrument. While haters claim that DJ's job is to click on a computer, those who want to change this perception underline the human part behind the music.
Whether you like it or not, electronic music has come to Euskal Herria, and the Zetak group shows it. It's been defined as the musical style of young people called the Millennial or Y generation. Young people (and not so young) have risen to this new wave, and it's no coincidence because repetitive melodies, solid structures and melodies of electronics, among other things, help release the dopamine that generates emotions and states of euphoria.
This new proposal by Peio Reparaz, from Arbizu, has made a space in the scene of Basque music for young people. This innovative and updated project offers us a reinterpretation of the Basque identity, for which the Navarro has developed several references. Proof of this is the typography used. The visual identity of sedals is based on traditional Basque typography and letters have been recovered and updated from the Basque alphabet.
On the Highway that came to light a year ago, they began with the song, followed by Pater Noster, With Me, Zuziri bi…. The project had a great reception since its inception and today they are still on the rise of the wave. Its success among adolescents is evident, has sold out in the Kubik room of Vitoria-Gasteiz and the expectation prevails in the environment.
This work, which develops the Basque cultural identity, offers the opportunity to learn about folklore, tradition and Basque history. Reparaz leaves in his songs references details such as Urbasa, Larrun, Laboa, Sakana, eagle... However, the teens who sing loud and loud will know who Mikel Laboa was?
Among the songs there is silence, revealing the rumor of the listeners. Spanish is the predominant language in the rumor, which will prevail until the beginning of the next song. Again the Basque with the first bass drum of the next song. Whether or not you know who the labo is, it is clear that a small victory has been achieved.
