Berenize was emptied by a volcano
- a.C. Around 209, archaeological remains indicate that Berenize, one of the main commercial ports of the Red Sea, was abandoned and repopulated years later.
Recently, Marek Wood and James A. Geologists Harrell conclude that this was due to a volcano. But around Bereniz there are no volcanoes. According to the journal Antiquity, the Berenize drain was caused by a severe drought, caused by a sudden climate change and a eruption on the other side of the planet.
Geologists don't know exactly which volcano exploded, but they've identified four major candidates in Mexico, Martinique and Japan.
