One of the parties that has participated in the election campaign for the Courts has said that "feminizing politics is going back to empathy." In politics, the presence of more women is good to soften the usual bad environment. To emote the candidates and shed some tears is a symbol of the feminization of politics. They say that women have more capacity to avoid conflict.
These kinds of statements condemn us once again to the world of feelings. They build a female imaginary universe where consensus and kindness predominate and, as a political conflict, women leave us out of the struggle for the separation of power, in the role of the cantineras in charge of emotional intendency.
According to Simone de Beauvoir, what makes us women is not a supposed essence, but our own existence, historically and materially conditioned and socially and culturally disciplined. Women don't have their own gifts or virtues. And the lower tendency to use violence is a consequence of the learned (imposed) defenselessness resulting from the pathology and concealment of violence against women.
Those who reject political conflicts and controversies as a matter of testosterone boast of the spirit of moral superiority, in the conviction that women have more civilized behaviors.
The Catalan sociologist María Jesús Izquierdo clearly explains the dangerous consequences that this reasoning has for women: if women are so good, if violence is strange to us, if our main characteristic is empathy, it is logical that society leaves us the work of care. Who is best placed to deal with this matter than we do?
On the other hand, those who reject conflicts and political disputes as a matter of testosterone take pride in the chest of moral superiority, as women have other ways of making them more civilized. This essentialism provides ideological ammunition to the perpetual insults and reproaches suffered by political women who show power and decision.
We said that politics is a conflict: competition between opposing interests, the fight for a good relationship of forces in order to be able to carry out its political project. And if the project of feminism is the elimination of the oppression, exclusion and violence that we women live in, victory will come from putting our demands on the negotiating table, of a feminist and feminist policy. For this, it is essential that most women are represented in the places where the life of the polis is decided and have decision-making capacity. More politics and conflict, less sentimentalism and essentialism.

The argument of a syllogism has three propositions, the last of which is necessarily deduced from the other two. It is with this deductive logic that I can analyze, for me, the long and traumatic socioecological conflict in Carpinteria that is taking place in Navarre.

I don't want my daughter disguising herself as a Gypsy in the caldereros. I don’t want Gypsy children at my daughter’s school to dress up as Gypsies in caldereros. Because being a gypsy is not a disguise. Because being a gypsy is not a party that takes place once a year, with... [+]
