One of those big and complex questions in which human beings feel or feel free, difficult to answer, and in which a firm and nuanced attitude is not easily tolerated. I, at least, think so, because I think I can equally defend the self as the no, because both opinions are in a way the truth, and because both reveal a real part of our universal perception of freedom. It depends. And what part of the currency assumes the preponderance at every moment: the weights of our reality always too limited, or the awareness of our free choice to overcome or accept that reality.

It is true that the world in which we live is not a great driver of freedom. And that we can hardly feel free in an authoritarian society that denies people's needs, or in a reality where fundamental human rights are violated, it is clear. However, I do not believe that this denies the fundamental freedom of human beings, because, even in the worst conditions, we have a kind of power to feel free, to remain masters of ourselves, at least from within. It is true that having the possibility of influencing reality itself is the minimum condition for freedom to feel. But even in the most extreme situation in which this is lacking, knowing how to have a clear awareness of this reality can become, in its humble, the key to liberation.

However, in order to measure the presence of freedom in our lives, the first thing we should do is to review the meaning we give to the concept, because we always identify the meaning of being free with being able to do what we want. And according to that interpretation, the result of any calculation will always be small. The parity between freedom and immensity is also at the origin of the childhood that prevails in our society, because it condemns us to never feel free, to always feel victims and to irresponsibility. Unfortunately, all borders have been discredited for our cause.

The point is that they exist. My desire to climb up the mountain, because simple exhaustion can prevent it. The desire to read all the classics of the world, the desire not to have time in life for it. Or wanting to walk with the man he liked the most, not feeling at ease with me. So, no more. What are we going to do to you? Because we are carnal, mortal and social. And because these countless impose on us in an absolutely natural way the need for a limited being. But that doesn't stop our freedom. No, in principle. It is true that it makes us shape our desires. But, quite rightly, we can do it. I would be very glad if you seemed clear about what I am saying, or if you thought this article was too much. Unfortunately, on too many occasions, I feel that the issue is still to be resolved. Especially when I see the quality of some supposedly free ecosystems that are offered to children. Faced with the fear of being corrected, we have removed all the limits of education. And because boys and girls can be conditioned, on the pretext that all opinions and references of adults are removed. In order not to be authoritarian, we adults have ceased to be authority and, what you mean, it seems to me that many times we are leaving children alone. Ladies and gentlemen, we have to turn to the issue of freedom. Really.
