Towards a feminism without centers?
Feminism went to Durango to take a picture. In part, a photograph that will make us strong in the face of the risk of assimilation and the reactionary patriarchal offensive.
In the portrait we see the form of the collective body that we form those who feel called to sign the Feminist Conference of Euskal Herria. He's half fat. The mass center of normal. Here are the cis, native, white, Basque women, with standard physical and mental capabilities. Because the axes of oppression operate in the councils, photography does not match the Basque social reality: the margins are very meticulous.
And yet, and for that reason, the effort and wager of feminist days has been to focus on what the system has turned into marginal. So let's do something that doesn't reproduce the same structure at another scale. The essence is not what but how. And to walk towards a utopia without centers, what happens on the margins is more interesting. The starting point, just the starting point: give the word, leave room and listen. Challenge: to do this honestly, without marginalizing washing and without falling into self-indulgence.
