Political leaders have always wanted to impose the narrative of the past in their favour: In the 1st century before Christ, Julius Caesar personally offered him to Commentari of Bello Galico and later Augustus commissioned Virgilio, Aeneis, an epic at the service of the propagande of his fame. In 1065, chronicler Turold conceived the rewriting of the events of 778, known as La Chanson de Roland, to justify the battles of conquest driven by Charlemagne. In the French school, students are taught to identify anti-Semitic narratives disseminated by totalitarian regimes, which propagate the apology of the authoritarian leader or the propaganda of a fascist ideology. What is evident, after the political critical spirit of the young, is asked the teachers to stop at it: please don't make them guess the narratives that guarantee patriarchy, state nation, colonialism, capitalism. Let the students know that there are expert historians to analyze and correct historical narratives, and that they understand especially in the developed liberal and democratic states, that history is no longer told by political power.

However, this is a fraud: the presidents have to adapt the school programs in one way or another, turn the national story into a special ideology and, thanks to the means they dominate, hinder the works of honest historians who act in the name of the truth. What is more, the current elects, who are left out of European democracies, do not complain about the laws that will transform the narrative of history: on 19 March, for example, the European Parliament decided that in order to set the memory of the future of Europe, people should see to the same extent the massacres caused by the ‘communist regimes’ and the ‘Nazi regime’, and equally condemn the communist symbols. The text states that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and the Nazi government of Germany were the perpetrators of the Second World War after the agreement not to attack each other on 23 August 1939. However, the war originated in the 1938 Burile, in the treaty of Munich, in which France and the United Kingdom allowed Hitler to enter Czechoslovakia. The European elects therefore continue to falter the past because of their contemporary ideologies or geopolitical states.

Compared to these intrigues of the great lords, there is no shortage of other goals, local and carried as much as possible, so that men can have another perspective of their history. To mention one, I can name a centre for interpreting the history of Baja Navarra which they want to set up in Baigorri, so that the citizens and the Bajonavarros know at least the circumstances in which their ancestors have been immersed.

Obviously, the historical narration that will appear in this center, necessarily made up of a subjective line, will be a reason for doubt or criticism and each one will be able to act in the name of historical truth.

In the transmission of memory, the important thing is to recognize that there is no political neutrality, so that we can explain the different historical interpretations. Let's explain a story to the kids, but clarify their ideological implicit. In the transmission of ours, in journalism, at home or in the school class, we know how to justify the lack of neutrality.
