Kaskezur’s new work is being highly acclaimed and exalted, and no wonder. The group has deepened its own melody, following the line of its previous work, Azpisugeak (Mukuru, 2017), and has created its most elaborate and comprehensive album. An elegant album with beautiful songs.
The members of the group show great taste when they create and play their songs, and they do so with a lot of passion, courage, softness and delicacy. They make sounds of rock, noise-rock and power-pop. Nice melodies, dark, passionate, quieter and more complicated passages, varied nuances, games between guitars. [Psychodelia and experimentation]. Melodies and words: “Suddenly the earth became a roof and things began to fall up (Above), “They will talk about Freedom. In the corners are the clans between the weeds. Animals escape. Sonic Youth, The Cure, Dinosaur Jr. Sebadoh, Superchunk, Fugazi and other groups have felt touched in the songs of Kaskezur, but the members of the group have been able to become influential, to create their own melody, their own atmosphere, the Kaskezur sound.
Imanol Zubieta (bass), Mikel Santxez (drums), Ion Minde (guitar and vocals) and Iñigo Belzunegi (guitar and voice) accompany Kaskezur in the music group EiTB Maratoia de Tolosa. Among them they have created the songs of the album, except one, as the song Euria is a free version of Euria ari du (the music is composed by Joseba Irazoki and the lyrics are by Dani Irazoki). In the recordings, Joseba Irazoki played the guitar, Ibai Gogortza sang it and Miren Narbaiza did it.
The recording was carried out by the technician Iñigo Irazoki, by the production itself Ibai Gogortza and by the mastering Jonan Ordorika.
The Kaskezur group, from Baztan (Navarra), was formed in 2004 and has five edited discs and four study discs. Very good jobs. Now, the best thing is to listen to the songs from the new album and see the group in a public concert, and to feel the emotion, the sensations, the emotions that the group conveys through its songs.
