This is how Siniestro Total sang since 1988. We have long been breathing the smell of humanity and the destruction of the planet, until that smell has become a penetrating breath.

I have used the pseudonym “we”, as that is what I shall refer to: How they mean “you, citizens” whenever they say “us”; why, repeating what has been repeated, they have made us solely responsible for the disaster.

“Look at what you are doing to use plastic bags with the world,” “you will have to pay,” if it wasn’t enough with our life and health, also five cents. And that's what we've been told in the newsletter: although the use of plastic bags has dropped dramatically over the last decade, it's because they've started charging in the last year. Marujo, in addition to ending the world by our recklessness, tells us that we are also slaves. The paralysis of plastic production, however, is not mentioned. And yes, you will be greeted, because soon you will turn meat into a luxury item.

Meanwhile, in the Spanish State, there are 100 companies guilty of 71% of CO2 (The Carbons Mayor Database Report), while in the Spanish State, the four most polluting are Endesa, Repsol-Petronor, Naturgy and EDP, as well as the withdrawal of gold from former politicians. And here the Basque Government does not have enough goodness for Josu Jon Imaz Petronor, as always when a cruise overflows in Bilbao, even though this type of vessel produces ten times more sulphur dioxide than all European cars a year (data from Transport & Environment). But calmly, the Basque Government has seen the light and declared the climate emergency. In the institutional declaration, between coarse words, only two concrete measures: that in public procurement 40% of the materials are recycled and that there is a budget line ... We all have to be responsible, but we are not all responsible to the same extent. We, the citizens, however successful and formal all mandates were, would not be able to stop the destruction, while those who are enriched with destruction had everything free. However, or for that reason, they point us out.

All of this reminds me of what they were telling us at the beginning of the economic crisis: that we had lived above our possibilities and had to tighten our belts, we who had neither hidden nor lost it. Blaming the public is the first step of capitalism to take advantage of any crisis on our own, to address a new step in capital accumulation and to ensure, with the support of the institutions, a new income background.

Do not think that what is coming is a “democratic” destruction and that we are all going to get started together and held together, as in the song of Siniestre. Those who are going to make us disappear do not hesitate to get even richer on the road and, in the end, they will be safe.

We are entering the age of green capitalism and climate apartheid, but that will have to be left for the next time.
