It rarely pushes the fallen leaves, the herons along the horizon and the students to the Euskaltegis and to resume with the broken heads of every year.

How many are they going to learn Basque, to improve in this continental Basque Country? Suppose there's a total of about 1,800 students in night schools, in associations, each on their own. However, it could give a large number, tailored to the population (300,000 inhabitants), which does not reach a small percentage, and among them it will not remain until its bases are established.

The obstacles to Euskera's learning can take into account the offer, which is not economically accessible, can be irreconcilable with some life models. Maybe some of you might be able to dial teachers, and those shadows can be heard, because in the absence of your own preparation, they depend on self-training.

However, on the road to acquiring the language, the most serious voids are those of promotion and use.

To begin with, there is no policy here that incites language learning, nor a clear message from a single position that says that “learning Basque is desirable, it is of the future, do it”. It would be good to say that. Without mounting sophisticated and gigantic hipper campaigns, clear public statements and invitations to charges can have palpable, simple and optimistic effects, without going too far. However, at the present time, when working on the planning of a language that does not officially exist, there is no clear promotion of the Basque language and of the learning of the Basque language directed to a broad public. Not this year? Someday?

Always from the students' point of view, the second void is that of use. Those who have come to study rarely have access to the use of language in the nearby environment, which is more, they do not have a model in society, which gives them a picture of language life, a complete, healthy, regulated and protected model. There is no effective use planning in this territory. Often, the intention to promote the use is directed to individuals, often carried out by associations through different activities. There is an attempt to ensure its use in the field of leisure, but above all aimed at young generations. Let us be clear, there is no device that effectively plans, executes, measures and regulates the use of Euskera in public structures, not in the public, let alone in private ones. However, these would be regulated by concrete procedures, the most controllable, the most visible and the easiest to accept.

And we forget that this picture, in essence, has never been a trio (beloved and studied), but has other facets, among which is the requirement of a status of language, the official.
