EuskarAbentura has been running since 1 July, a travelling expedition with more than 150 people. As the name of the project indicates, the Basque is an element that is at the root; they have visited the various sites of the Basque Country, have been discovering events in our history in stages, and have also learned from the references of the Basque culture. However, EuskarAbentura had already defined from the beginning another axis: the creation of a network of young Basques, in some way, the construction of solid relations from the unforgettable moments that are being experienced. This objective has been overshadowed on several occasions, but it is a very profound idea.

Eighty years ago, an investigation was launched at Harvard University, where the situation was analyzed. On the road to a healthy and happy life, the main objective was to identify psychosocial variables that could be important. To do so, they identified a sample of 724 adolescent males who wanted to participate in the study and, although it seems to be a lie, during the eight decades in which the study was underway, in addition to completing the life satisfaction surveys, performed occasional medical examinations. From adolescence to old age, the participants spent different stages of life throughout the process, and as the human being is changing, throughout these decades, their visions and thoughts about their happiness were changing. Robert Waldinger, the researcher and professor currently working on the project, showed in 2015 the main conclusions that have been detected. In general, these men had multiple trajectories, moving from the most insignificant situations to a successful life, while others experienced the opposite process, of being at the top crumbled. In any case, beyond the facts of life, the event occurred in a generic way: Waldinger states that the networks of individual relationships have a positive effect on health and happiness; that is, that strong relationship structures, in addition to pushing to live more joyful, have been living longer.

This conclusion was also reached by American physician and investigator Stewart Wolf. In the city of Roseto, in Pennsylvania, surprised by the low rate of people under 50 due to the infarction, in 1960 he began to investigate this phenomenon. Compared to other cities with similar characteristics, it focused on the way of life of the Italian inhabitants of Roseto. For Wolf, taking into account the collaborative life of the locals was fundamental to understand the phenomenon.

The conclusions drawn in this work have given rise to many debates. Today, we have a life model based on short-term successes, which is rooted in quantifiable achievements. Considering the positive effect that relational networks may have on individuals also implies recognizing the importance of variables that influence the individual and cannot be quantified. In addition, the short-term achievement model does not correspond to the philosophy of caring for healthy relationships, since, in reality, exchanges are not easy; as the word itself says, they are received and given, have a long view over time and, of course, it is a process that accompanies care. Process and not objective.

We do not know whether EuskarAbentura will have as much life as the research of the University of Hardvard, but I have the feeling that the networks that emerge from it, for a long time, will keep in us a little light of happiness.
