Concrete wave
- We walk into a desert sea. We will walk through this mass of concrete stone and to do so we will be guided by the yellow fart. Next to him, we will be accompanied by the anchor the boats carry and the rope that binds them together. Together, we begin the search for the land and we face the problems, difficulties and fears that we face.
This
is the presentation of a project selected in the fifth edition of the “Gazte Sortzaileak” scholarship. Look at Narbaiza, Joseba Larratxe and Joseba Baleztena have joined the stage of the Aldabe Civic Center of Vitoria-Gasteiz. The anchors or what to take from the boat come to present the work If the sea becomes stone. To do this, we will have a group consisting of two musicians and a comic book artist, and with a blank screen that covers almost the entire stage.
The room is full of darkness, silence reigns and Joseba Larratxe (Josevisky) stands to speak. In this comic he has worked as a cartoonist and writer and has made a brief summary of the contents he wanted to convey. Starting from this gray-neutral colour that the sea has in the dark and sad winter days, it has planned to enter the process of searching for land of a lost sailor in a dried alternative sea.
This interdisciplinary session shows the different situations and feelings encountered throughout life, such as burdens, fears, etc. The comic adds some humor, but mixed with a philosophical influence. Although it is not light for the viewer, it gives him time to resume his head.
The clicks of the eyes are interrupted as the comic advances and dried. The ears are also Micek and Joseba B. They ask for the music that the Lenoir does. The cartoons have been accompanied by repetitions of guitar, recordings, noise noises, bombs and maracas, paused and rhythmic combinations.
The giant wave of concrete will appear at the moment you are immersed in the sailor's search and there is little to know what the end of his story will be. The land lies behind this great and indestructible wave that is scary. Thanks to the energy, strength and courage of the protagonist, he will be able to climb a wave that he could not climb and that will be the great reward after this long and difficult road.
