Doubts
- I don't know if the program itself was a telecebáceo; the subject was a telecúgo. I mean a program that was long ago, when I was still young. A tertulia colleague argued that you couldn't define that kind of television, that didn't exist, that at least he didn't know exactly what the telectable was.
The one who had given such reasons was a famous manufacturer of telecebo-recesses, so all his theoretical doubts disappeared when it came to doing what he didn't even know how to say. Or maybe I knew it, but the label bothered him.
In the Spanish media, they are immersed in a similar epistemological confusion regarding an aspect that has its name in Latin. Is it fascist? No, on TV they tell us that fascism is something else. Face? Inés Arrimadas has just made it clear to us that it is an ultra-conservative party in a newspaper – conservative, anti-democratic? – constitutionalist that is always right. Mixed with the PP and Citizens, a sweet pasta is created, which any democrat can easily swallow, called center-right.
With other aspects, the media have never doubted the slightest doubt. Those of the Cup have always been radical, those of Podemos have been Bolivarians and those of the Abertzale left have been ETA people, terrorists or murderers.
During these days, UPN candidate Javier Esparza has been counting on all television shows that EhBildu seats are "blood-drenched." The Abertzale left has been moving away from ETA for several years and recognizing the suffering caused. Also a few years ago he "suggested" that a leader of the PSOE "go here and there" that it was he who organized the GAL. The proof that there is blood in the seats of the Socialists is still doubtful for many journalists. It's as true as that side of the name in Latin.
