Antonio García Fernández was the precursor of the modernization of labor relations. In 1957 he founded the construction company Jotsa in Madrid. With all the support of Franco, he built many neighborhoods for the workers, taking advantage of bad urbanism and bad conditions. But Antonio was kind and close to the employees: “I have never fired anyone and nobody has gone from my company to another, looking for a better offer,” he stressed every time I had occasion. “We are a family company, a family of 1,000 partners; ours goes beyond the bonding of blood; we join capital and work in the service of Spain”.
He organized parties for his employees and invented the slogan “We Are All Companies”. As a supernumerary of Opus Dei, he implemented the foundations of this institution, giving Franco a simple and friendly layer. It is not surprising, therefore, that the Gold Medal for Professional Merit has been received by Franco. It may not be very important, but Antonio García created Jotsa thanks to his father-in-law Juan Obregón Toledo. He was his capitalist partner and, by the way, over the years he would also become the grandfather of the famous Ana Obregón.

The businessmen heirs to the Gold Medal awarded by Franco in 1967 are very close to us. They want us to sell the same formula, with the current power points, color graphs and sleek reports, rather than the black and white NO-DO of Franco.
The Basque employers also call it the “third way”: there are no employers or workers. No, therefore, different interests. They all ship in the same boat, all in the same direction. “The relationship between the company and the workers must be correct”, and the goal of the few (increase the profits) must be that of everyone, “in a shared project, overcoming the blockade of labor relations”.
In fact, among other examples is what happened in the company Sidenor (Azpeitia): with redundancies and regulatory dossiers, owners have launched a “new culture” to prevent workers from being represented. The employer Adegi has awarded Sidenor the New Business Culture Award, as did Franco in 1967. But this way of life is very old. Older than Ana Obregón's grandfather. Now they call exploitation collaboration. Color, that's it.
