- I don't know how many jokes have been made this week on social media because of: The candidate of pp to reelection, Pablo Casado, does not know where he is in Getxo, Gipuzkoa or Bizkaia. When I started writing this, I've been about to tell you that I would surely be in trouble if I had to locate many peoples of the Basque Country: In Gipuzkoa or in Bizkaia? In Lapurdi or Baja Navarra? Well, I'd already like to meet those in the county of Pamplona. But then I've realized that my ignorance is my problem and it doesn't justify the problem of a politician. On the other hand, Casado will know Gernika but not Getxo?
The candidate Vox was going to have in Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain) said that the bombing of Gernika was a propaganda invented by the British. This fact and some homophobic adihedrons have created stir and led to their resignation. OK. But perhaps we should remember that, even if they are not expressed so crudely, these ideas are fairly widespread on the sides of the right. For years, a politician who does not know where he is in Getxo has been laughing at those who are looking for the footprints of those shot during Franco. Years, Citizens' candidates tell us that talking about Franco is reopening the wounds of the past. The years, the false researches of Pius Moa are among the best-selling books and, in this sense, the monsters who strive to feed some in the radios and the televisions explain that the Spanish Civil War began in 1934, which was a real repulsion, because it led to a conflict between brothers.
Casado will learn firsthand where Getxo is located, with the aim of improving competitiveness. The study of Gernika by more than one will be a little more difficult, precisely because they never wanted to learn and now, despite the resignation of Albacete, it is becoming cool.
