Like that. With this legal certainty, the Department of Education has specified in which language opposition teachers will be required to conduct their examinations: “In the relevant language”. What the hell does this mean? Will the opponents be able to examine themselves, as they have done so far, in Spanish? What about didactic programming? They have stated that this programming can be delivered in pdf, Libre office 6 or Microsoft office 2016; because it is not specified in which language, it is considered free to write both in Basque and Spanish.
It seems that the Department of Education is still on course. Or coward. Or both.
In June last year, he presented the Education Agreement. In this sense, he said that many professors are not comfortable with their Basque level and that it would help them, especially at the oral level, to achieve the C1+ level. Speaking of languages, he also said: “The profile of new teachers to join the education system will be specified (...)”.
In particular, what he did not do in this year’s call for opposition: to specify the profile of the new teachers. It's still enough to present the level C1 that once came out: think, the title D that served 35 years ago would also serve. Not only that: If in 1993 someone who was a substitute teacher and got a place in 2019, he would have a period of three years to study in Basque. The opposition can therefore be conducted in Spanish. Also the oral test.
As in the 2017 call: identical.
As if the bases had never been written by the 2018 Education.
And so, doing things the same way, the Department of Education intends to lay the foundations for changing the educational system, getting multilingual students and, at the end of the compulsory schooling period, raising the Basque level from B1 to B2. And that was it.
All this, without attesting to the real level of Euskera of the new professors at the time of obtaining the plaza: two, five, eleven years ago. They do not believe that they speak well in Basque today. They know how to speak seriously.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education will continue in all three languages: they will get B2 in Basque and B1 in English at the end of the ESO: doing all the same, the result will be much better. Why? Because our students are faster than Valencian students. There, poor students will get at least A1 in English and B1 in Valencian at the end of the ESO. At least this is established by Law 4/2018, of the multilingual educational model of Valencia.
