I've experienced two feminist strikes. A strike requires implications, strikes are uncomfortable and discomfort – and contact with the economy – moves things from one side to the other.
The question is where does power move? But when street movements cannot be stopped, the usual strategy is “fusion”, but neutralizing the ideological part and assuming the aesthetic part. You have seen the wonderful videos of the Feminist Movement of Euskal Herria on the concept of “purple bleaching” by humorist Beatriz Egizabal. The purple laundering is, among other things, that Iberdrola organizes these days storytelling contests about “women”, or that the men of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz want to take a collective photo on the occasion of March 8, after the eviction of the feminist space Talka… Then comes the adhesion of the Queen of Spain and not address the problem of hundreds of viral straws. And this, folks, is not the “fault” of the feminist movement. This is a system survival technique. But it seems that pointing out any possible weak point in the movement is a source of joy for many. “You’re wrong.”
To the capitalist heteropatriarchate, we know who the enemies are, we have never forgotten it, we make them visible.
