In 2018, the North Pole has not recorded any fusion records and Trump will have the excuse to go ahead with coal-burning power plants or vehicles operating on the basis of fossil fuels; or Bolsonaro buy land for intensive agriculture in the Amazon; or Macron to delay as far as possible the closure of nuclear power plants and produce and consume as much as possible.
In 2017 we were told that the problem of the ozone layer had been solved, but last year’s has been one of the most serious of the decade we are in. However, this problem occurs at the South Pole in a small interval of time, making it less painful. Since the mouths installed in Chernobyl and Fukushima prevent the spread of radiation, we have had no news of them and have almost forgotten them in our collective memory.
Although the crisis we have experienced over the past ten years has impoverished most of us, a few are richer, both people and states, but despite everything, we cannot deny that technology has advanced and also.
From the scientific point of view, we
are increasingly being shown that our world has increasingly serious diseases, but in addition to taking few corrective measures in real life, I think there is a growing belief that catastrophies have
always existed among us.
From the point of view of science, it is increasingly clear to us that our world is suffering from increasingly serious diseases, but apart from taking few corrective measures in real life, I believe that the belief that catastrophies have always existed among us is spreading. That in the year 2000 the world would end, that the sea level will devour our our beaches, that in a few years' time there will be no ice in the Arctic Ocean, that oil is about to end and a long branch that we will not see materialised has generated some mistrust in society. In fact, along with the statements we have mentioned, we know that behind scientific research are the interests of big business.
However, scientists have left a mark on our social activity in recent years; we have internalised a more responsible collection of waste, a more appropriate use of energy and water, an improvement in public transport, the expansion of green areas, town planning and other concepts. But we must continue to produce and consume and the gross domestic product of our peoples must continue to grow in order to maintain and improve our standard of living.
In the time of Obama and Merkel, the intention of science, at least in part, was to care for the world, but in these times when Trump, Bolsonaro and the long list of acholites dominate, I think science will continue at a fast pace, but changing course. I mean, the other way around.

To be honest, I don't know why I'm writing this. In today’s hostile environment, opinions of this kind are not well received. Perhaps LUZ will not publish this because it does not correspond to the opinions they have published so far (but if they have finally decided to publish... [+]

And for another year, the unions have organized prefabricated strikes for us. And we, individually, will decide whether or not to join the strike, without the need for any assembly at the school.
The strike model that I was taught is no longer in vogue, it seems. In my... [+]
Life surrounds everything, it is limited and fragile. To live good lives, it seems to me that the body knows what to do, while the mind, although it knows (when it is well informed), often sees the body deliberately silence. In this silence the mind opens itself to relations... [+]

It is the habit of making decisions that will change our lives with the beginning of the new year. We make lists on three points: one, more sports practice; two, seeing old friends more often; three, going back to Iceland, real and metaphorically. As the months go by, we realize... [+]
Zirkulazioan lehentasunek garrantzi handia dute. Gidatzeko ikasten dugun lehen gauzatakoak dira: biribilguneak eta STOPak menperatu ezean nekez lortuko dugu gidabaimena.

Since Benito Lertxundi, who told us that he will leave the scenes for ever, we have been there for several weeks, and since then many of us have felt orphans in one way or another, with a sense of loss or abandonment, sad. To Iruindarro, at least, we will remain forever honored... [+]
There are three knots that complicate our coexistence in the Basques, and for many years, despite our patience and determination, we are unable to break free from these ties. There are at least three knots of the moment: prisoners, Basque, immigrants.
With the new year we are... [+]
