This struggle is important, as it is the immigrants who defend their rights and can serve as an example for thousands of other immigrants living in false slavery in the greenhouses business. The evolution of this strike has been a great step – demonstrations by strikers and expressions of solidarity with them – to curb abuses by large landowners against the most demanding workers and not to extend injustice and precariousness to other greenhouses. The solidarity that is emerging between the immigrant and the indigenous population should also be highlighted: We have heard shouts like “here or outside, working-class” and have organized a resistance box to maintain the struggle.
The Government of Navarre should not respond to the repression of the foral police, but should mediate, since the company that produces salads' covers, Huerta de Peralta, receives significant public aid. Hokoke, hokoke!
