British does not welcome criticism
- Beginning in 1959, physicist Harvey Einbinder (1924-2013) spent five years exploring the Encyclopaedia Britannica in search of errors.
He found errors, inaccurate data, but also biased opinions and approaches. One of the main criticisms he made of the encyclopedia was that it was aimed at satisfying the wishes of the American public – remember that in 1901 Britannica was acquired by an American company. The physicist also accuses him of receiving scientific innovations with delay.
Einbinder has his entry into Wikipedia. Information about British is also received at the Wikipedia entry. But the famous British encyclopedia does not mention its name.
