It is a shame that we are seeing: The Aquarius odyssey; the Lifeline odyssey; the ports of Italy and Malta closed; the children of migrants without papers separated from their parents and locked in cages in EE.UU. ; the constant arrival of the pateras by the sea of Gibraltar… And in the midst of all this politicians and governments: some obstinately refuse to receive migrants, others do not know what to do, and above all what they do not respect in the Union, such as the rights of migrants. Last week there was a very short peak, and this week a more widespread rise in the area has been announced. But we do not see unitary agreements. In the EU, there are always rapid and unanimous agreements for defence policy and military investment, by hand with the armour lobbies. However, there is no solution to migration policy. It seems that the fact that the Mediterranean becomes a common pit does not affect them.

This attitude is logical and consistent with the globalisation philosophy of the EU countries: goods and capital can move and cross borders without any problems, while migrants, as people, cannot and cannot. This is the face of the capitalist system that welcomes us! A system that feeds on inequality and injustice, plundering the natural resources of the countries of origin of migrants and benefiting from the arms trade for the conflicts it creates.
