I don't know what the heads of government of other communities will do to highlight their image. In any case, probably not as much as Urkullu, who is doing the same thing every day – and sometimes even twice a day. This type of behavior can cause citizens to be bored, so their “messages” risk going unnoticed.
Last week, the employment plan for the Confesbask, which provides for the creation of 100,000 jobs in three years, of which 70,000 will grow in economic activity, and the rest to deal with the generational shift, has been presented to the media. Companies, they said, have difficulty in meeting their needs, mainly due to the lack of training and specialisation of young workers who have entered the labour market.
What employment, training and wage policies will be promoted by the administration to facilitate such employment? Precariousness, temporality and low wages are not attractive to young people. It is not enough to promise 100,000 jobs. Administrations and employers, for example, need to promote vocational training so that it has decent jobs and wages. Young people should be guaranteed access to professions that meet their skills. This should be the responsibility of the educational policy of the Basque Government, so that each announcement of the lehendakari does not give rise to a new campaign to sell and advertise its image.
