The sounds of destiny
Very good new album from Morau. Very good words, songs and songs. It's your seventh album, and your most personal work. Exciting, bitter, moving the bowels. They're the sounds of fate or necessity. Pain, despair... Feelings are on the surface.
Her mother's disease and her care are the axes of the songs. Since her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's more than twelve years ago until she died about a year ago, Andoni Tolosa Morau had gotten used to walking with her every morning and hanging on Facebook a photo she had taken. He wrote his experiences around illness and caring for his mother, and those walks and texts have been the starting point of his songs.
Thus, it leaves aside the irony and humor that characterizes them, except in the phrases that appear on the skin and in the back cover: 13 songs can be read on the cover to take from the ear and “Don’t leave them near the ears and hands of children. They don't need a prescription. Read the package leaflet on the back cover before use.”
It's a simple, elegant job. It's pretty. Before listening to it, it is already palpable by the cardboard box that houses the cover, the CD and the word poster. It is a craft work, handmade artwork by Morau and his friends in auzolan, do it yourself (do it yourself). In addition, the discs are sealed one by one with red wax.
He's also recorded songs that way, and he's published them on his own. Peio Gorrotxategi worked as a technician in the Aieka study by Ereinotzu. Among the 13 songs are the live versions of the song Clash and Pistols of the Itoiz group.
The illustrations by Iñaki Martiarena Mattin and the participation of Beñardo Goietxe and Giorgio Bassmatti stand out: Beñardo Goietxe (Mugaldekoak) has created choirs in the songs, and Giorgio Bassmatti has made a version of Bi argazki Kanta and played the guitar and sang it in that version. They've rounded up the work.
The album is available through the Morauren Bandacamp platform, in various locations in Hernani and in public performances.
