At 7 a.m., we've chosen the clothes of the house, we've put on the costume and we've crossed the village through the streets. The night passage that returns home, the early morning tabernacle, the newspaper dealer, crossing the gaze, we say goodbye in the act of the parallel worlds. It rains, but I come with desire, less evil that there are days like this, because otherwise we would be lost in the isolation imposed on us by the official order.

We are an island at sea, in an urban society of the 21st century in which global diversity and trends predominate. According to the latest data, more than 100 languages are spoken in Basque Country, with their cultural references, values and sonorities. To this we add the tribes of one and the other, we live in micro-worlds that have not been known each other. Above all, the official commercial culture is the protagonist in the Valley of the Left of Bizkaia.

Seven years ago we recovered the original carnival in our people. The old demand at home was transferred to the neighborhoods of the industrial estate, animated by music, dance and singing, which bears the name Carrascoliendas in Trapagaran.

It is a very dear day for the participants. Perhaps because it responds to the community deficiencies of the system in which we live, it provokes many emotions in us. People have the need to get together spontaneously, to sing in the street, to hug, to touch and to dance in a messy way. At the close of today’s social order, Carrascoliendas gives us the way to it and there is its importance.

The initiative is successful in the people but has difficulty in becoming the people's carnival. Every year, we gather over 200 neighbors. But I'm sure if we tried it, the day would love so many. Unfortunately, we are not able to expand further. What are the reasons for this?

The society of our region is unstructured. Economic and family problems, exclusion or the effects of drugs are more widespread than in the mining area at other times. In this way, in the survival, each more isolated, it is difficult to expand common projects in the village. In addition, the silence of the media in the region regarding popular initiatives and the lack of support from the institutions accentuate the disability.

That is why our gaze necessarily goes in the long term, thinking that we can advance through educational projects that can be developed playfully in schools. By uniting the people and the school through dance and music, creating love for the people, relating the old and the young and cultivating values so superficial in our environment. We are aware that if we live in the city of Euskal Herria, we have to collaborate with the tribes of the neighborhood, the owners of the future that we have to sow with the young, so that tomorrow we may be a people.
