Behind the pot
Mustache, clothes recovered from my uncle's closet, strange choreographies, turning back viewers on stage, a videoclip without instruments or blood, the title of the album in German, a great touch of arty... What is this? Am I aging or does youth have other bases, absolutely different? Both! Yes, we live in times of great joy, sometimes also of nonsense, but there are groups that excel behind all that. That's how I found the Vulk Bilbaite Group.
The members of the band are on average 26 years old; they have been with this project for three or four years and, mocking their youth, they show great musical knowledge. In the first blow you can place them in the post-punk or after-punk, symbol of Joy Division, but under the skin they appear more layers and the result is very rich.
This is the first feature of the Beat Camerland quartet, which debuts at the Royal Society. The cover, the back cover and the disc cookie are from different artists, of course. In addition, with a tradition of the 1980s, the album bears a poster! Unique position is hypnotic at intervals, dark and restless. Andoni's diction when singing in English is convincing and the song has magnetism; it plays almost spiraling with the pseudo-electronics. Something Internet hit! the exact rhythm of the clock, the minimalist but penetrating riff, the anbital keyboards and a round melody, until they become more distorted in the finish, spatial and noissesic. A comtemporary statement has great rhythm changes and looks like a multiplication of The Fall, Fugazi and The Ex.El horse burning is another classic: very rich and instrumentally strong; although Pixies is present, New Order commands.
Face B opens the short instrumental pill From found to stage. This is followed by the Sure drop post-hardcore, which grows and develops until you meet Sheelac and Hammerhead, and which is lost in the night of psychodelia and pseudoelectronics. Hugo hall noise is a glossy, sticky pop and bailable.Brazil has a crazy rhythm that inevitably moves you and a dark but contagious melody that catches you. Slow attack on canvas, Pixies acid soaked.
