Rich prophet of what would come
The idea of Xabier Montoia (then) was for young people to make versions of the songs written by Mikel Laboa. The money raised was allocated to the ikastolas of Iparralde. Last year it was reedited by Elkar and SEASKA, but unfortunately it went almost unnoticed. This work was the first to observe the bridge work between generations of Laboa and the first to recognize and thank from the rock scene his life.
This work represents the profound change brought about by the arrival of the 1990s in the Basque music scene. The range of styles went from being opened and completely destroyed to being built. A very significant example is the appearance of Negu Gorriak on this album. The group premiered in Txerokee with the biographic Gaberako atherpea and for the first time we were able to listen to hip-hop in Euskera. And also ten other interesting projects that started to be given or given to talk about: Before the audience left the furnace The wild birth of Su Ta Gar warmed that the Basque theme (Haika chico) had been inserted into the heavy and speed-rock border. Tapia and Leturia, on the eve of wearing the txapela of Public Enemy, showed signs with the triki, waltz, tango and mix of madness of Lekeitioruntz. Paf! The group offered bowels of spirit and body to enjoy the Basque music, the dance of rhythms, the trumpet and the trikitixa under the batuta of jazz and hardcore. Beautiful! Also Karkax, paisano, brought Laboa's hardcore and vision through the Haika boys. The Kiowak of Zarautz passed through the saxo-and-roll rock mixer the troubled Baga biga higa. The Tolosarra Akabi group created a superevil rock, full of distortions, giving more meaning to the piece Ama hil da. Angel G.
