The Council for the Production of Organic Agriculture of Catalonia (CCPAE) has launched the Ecosegell project, a pioneering initiative in Catalonia. Ecosegell is a digital educational resource for the learning of the foundations of organic farming and the labelling of organic food in schools, aimed especially at young people aged 10 to 14. The project aims to work these issues through games and disseminate them from youth to society.

An innovative initiative

Together with the Vida Sana association, the council has created the pedagogical project, one of the first of its kind created in the Spanish State. The digital material consists of three games: the first step is to answer a survey on organic production, the second is to create the label of an organic food and the last cooking exercise with these foods.

The main objective of the project is to teach the foundations of organic farming and to promote attitudes and values that respect health and the environment. In addition, they hope that young people will take home the concepts they have learned and that people will "spread" on the subject.
