On more than one occasion we have heard that the constitution of Spain is similar to that of France. It is therefore not surprising that the Bourbons, dynasties that the Kingdom of Spain has had at its disposal for centuries, have their origin in France. It is therefore normal to want to copy the French model in Spain, but that has its peculiarities.

Two and a half centuries ago, the Revolution was made in France, and the Bourbons either disappeared or were taken to the hoax. In Spain, however, with the exception of a few times, they remain in power. Indeed, the whole family depends on the Kingdom ' s budgets, without taking into account other sources of income.

Madrid wants to be a capital like Paris. Therefore, the public administration of the State, besides being located in it, intends to centralize all economic activity in it. In short, Madrid has become an economic, military and administrative capital. And the communication, the politics, the culture of most political parties also go from there to the entire state. In order to maintain all this money is needed and that has been possible on public budgets: that is why most of the public investments are made in Madrid, avoiding Catalonia and other countries. The Catalans therefore feel abandoned, because a normal state must reach all its citizens.

With the aim of curbing the course towards the independence of Catalonia, Madrid is trying to attract large local companies, as if it had not so far tried to pursue such a cruel policy. The Basques are also aware of some of these issues. For example, here we have the case of BBVA, which for its political interests carried its entire activity from Bilbao to Madrid, with the majority of its direct and indirect jobs.

In order to intimidate the Catalans, most Spanish media highlight that CaixaBank, Banco Sabadell, Aguas de Barcelona, etc. They have taken their headquarters out of Catalonia, with the negative consequences that this will leave, especially in taxes. But will it be so negative?

These companies already carry out their most economic activity outside Catalonia. Despite the fact that the savings of the Catalans are their origin, as in the case of Euskaltel, over time the activity of these companies has gone to the hands of the Spanish economic and political elites, which is the class that takes the most advantage. On the other hand, the usual activities and management of these companies will continue to be carried out in Catalonia, where the market is very important; if not, see the fear generated when the Catalans began to raise money from the Sabadell Bank.

On the other hand, the State Treasury will collect, as it has done so far, taxes on profits generated by large companies in the sector. The Tax on Economic Activities, the Local Tax, will remain in the same situation and the activities developed in the towns of Catalonia will be transferred to the General Treasury of the State depending on the local economic operations. The only public income that companies would lose is the Tax on Transmissions and Legal Acts: Increase, decrease, etc. social capital. a.) It would be corporate tax, even though it is a lower volume tax.

All this, if the current status continues to exist, but as soon as it is done with independence, all these competences would be held by the Catalan public finance and would be freed from the dependency of Madrid, because as a sovereign country all the fiscal competences will be yours, not those of Spain.
