An important element to enjoy a music session is, of course, the quality of what we see and hear about the stage. But it's not the only component, and sometimes the most important. There are, in many cases, contextual elements that really condition the impression the listener receives. This is what happens at concerts held in the Ermita de la Antigua de Zumarraga. Unfortunately, Athletic Club has finished the 34th edition of the Giro de Italia. Antioko Musikaldia, but we enjoyed it in this last concert, we invaded his spirituality and lived a magical moment. A cold, wet day, but inside the hermitage of Antigua, a special atmosphere was created, just start the concert.

Giovanni Battista Pergolesi composed Stabat Mater in the last weeks of his life. Deep feeling and fine sensitivity are evident in all parts of the work. The soloists did a sleek job. As I said, they rose with round voices despite the cold atmosphere. Soprano bilbaína Ana Otxoa was brave, although she offered a song of few nuances. In the Cuius animam gementem passage, for example, he cast his voice very well, and performed a great duo with the mezzo Marifé Nogales in part O quam tristis et afflicta.

Perhaps the mezzaro Nogales had improved his deep, noisy voice. The singer easily passes through all the records, but the middle one is especially bright. The episode Quae morebat et dolebat, among others, was an example of this. It was nuanced and well gasped.

The Music Chapel Andra Mari del Coro, united by Andoni Sierra, acted with rigor and with due form and security. Oscar Candendo, for his part, was a good organist.

But the real protagonists were the boys and girls of the Easo Eskolania. This group of boys, one of the most unique in the Basque Country, specialized in Ancient Music, has a wide experience and has worked with top international orchestras and directors. On this occasion, the song was completely tuned and pasted, and they were undoubtedly a key element for the magic and charm of the program.
