In short, the history of the festival txosnas: “We have assimilated what was an alternative space and have become managers.” Linked to associations and social movements, the txosnas emerged in their day to be an alternative space. To fund the group's annual activities, to get people to meet and be the center of inspiration for different ideas at parties. However, due to the time, the lack of illusion or the loss of repetition of what has always been, the need to renew the txosna model in our environment has been emphasized.

Almost ten years ago, in a large tent of a call for the youth movement of Euskal Herria, we talked to working friends of the Lower Navarra about the sale of beverages from multinationals. They could not understand the normalized presence of the brands of oppressive beverages in the range of claims. The question “Is everything worth earning money for a good cause?” was put to us in the face of the typical economic reasons or arguments of price subsidy for those companies.

From here, in this year’s festivities, young people have taken a step further, mostly organizing a non-multinational food and beverage offer at the gaztetxe txosna. Horticulturists have collaborated both in the supply of vegetables and in the auzolan to produce night snacks.

The txosna has brought together many people, of all ages and types, and it has achieved accession with the illusion that we were changing something. Every evening we've been working on auzolan, cooking food at night. Different people, older or younger, children and adults, friends of gaztetxe, friends of farmers, neighbors of culture, neighborhoods or mountain. We have offered something good, healthy and tasty and it has been successful.

At a time when those who do not know what to do in their lives become a non-calling official, the initiative has given a social value to the basic trades, strengthened our self-esteem and proposed other ways of living. It is possible to create employment in the people if we join together producers, small traders, workers and citizens' movements. A new encouragement for the txosna from the practice linked to the demands of justice, which can be opened in collaboration, awaken consciences and turn the whole space into a popular alternative.

In the end, what we want is for our region to have a future outside the grip of the big multinationals, for the love of our people to be transferred to the children, for the language in which it has been lost to be restored and for everyone to be offered, in the hope that the rest will come.

From the distance I would say that there is something of that at the base of what has aroused so much illusion in Catalonia. Therefore, let us build the people from a young age but acting, from words to deeds.
