Merciless
- Gaitze is a threesome born from the ashes of the music group Karkaba de Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa). It can be said that it is a continuation of the carcava, an idea in which it has been deepened and taken to the extreme, both in melodies and rhythms and in messages.
In April of this year, they published the album, their first long work. There are nine themes, nine ends of a minute and a half, and the entire album is heard quickly. These are crude songs from punk hardcore to all gas, from what was done in the 1980s. They make rhythm changes and cuts, also playing slower fragments in some songs. They've made a dense sound, and they work very energetically, directly and precisely.
They convey outrage and anger through two loud voices that come out of their bowels, aggressive, violent and merciless. “Let us break the chains, they proclaim freedom” (You are), and “the cursed bourgeois treasurers” (Money), “humankind without soul, our misery enriches you” (I want to live), “our flat goods become waste” (Chaos and garbage), “world peace, social peace is the mother of all wars” (Terrorism).
As in the 1980s they made numerous punk and hardcore groups, to complete the album they have worked with the philosophy of do it yourself (do it yourself) and have made the layout on their own – front cover, back cover, page that picks up the cookies and words of the CD – by hand, with templates and sprays. After all, Gaitze's album is a work of craftsmanship, a jewel, because today there are very few such works.
As in the album, in public performances, they play without time to breathe the viewers, without jokes, with an incredible passion, strength and value, successively playing the songs, and their performances are impressive, worthy of being surprised.
